Frequently Asked Questions
What is Openline?
Openline is an AI-guided app that helps couples communicate better, understand each other’s needs, and resolve conflicts calmly and constructively.
Does this replace therapy?
No. Openline supports healthier communication, but it’s not a substitute for professional therapy.
It’s a helpful tool you can use anytime to prepare for or complement deeper therapeutic work.
Is my data private and secure?
Yes. Your data is encrypted, stored securely, and never shared with your partner unless you choose to.
Your private reflections stay private.
How is this different from a messaging app?
Openline isn’t just a chat app — it guides your conversations.
It provides structured steps, reflection spaces, and real-time prompts designed to reduce conflict and help both partners feel heard.
How does the AI work?
The AI listens to what both partners share, identifies key themes, and guides the conversation with calming prompts and constructive suggestions.
What scientific principles is Openline based on?
Openline draws from evidence-supported frameworks including conflict resolution models, active listening, non-violent communication, and emotional regulation strategies.
Do both partners need to join?
Yes, for now both partners need to be in the app to have an AI-mediated conversation. Solo reflection mode is coming in a future version.
Who is Openline for?
Openline is for couples who want to improve communication, resolve recurring issues, or simply strengthen their connection.
How much does Openline cost?
Pricing varies by region, and you’ll see the exact amount inside the App Store or Google Play.
Every plan starts with a 1-week free trial, so you can experience Openline before your subscription begins.
When will I be charged?
You’ll only be charged when your free 1-week trial ends.
If you cancel during the trial, you won’t be charged anything.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. You can cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play settings.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds are handled directly through the App Store or Google Play based on their policies.
Will my partner need a separate subscription?
No. Only one partner needs an active subscription.
We designed this intentionally to make it easier and more accessible for couples to improve their communication.
Will pricing change in the future?
If pricing ever changes, you’ll be notified in advance. Existing subscribers will always have the option to continue or switch plans.
I’m having trouble adding my partner. What should I do?
Both partners need to create an account and accept the connection invite. If you’re still stuck, tap “Help” in the app to contact support.
The AI isn’t responding as expected.
Try refreshing the session or restarting the app.
If the issue continues, reach out through in-app support — we’re here to help.
How do I report a bug or make a suggestion?
You can send feedback directly through the app or email us at support@openline.app. We actively review every message.
I can’t access premium features.
Make sure your subscription is active in the App Store / Google Play.
If you’re still unable to access features, contact support and we’ll fix it.
My partner and I see different screens.
